My 12 year old recently picked Paris for a quick trip for him and me and it was a delight! Fall in Paris is magical, and can also be a bit finicky weather-wise. Layers are your friend, along with clothing that travels well. Here’s what I wore for 3 days in Paris in the fall, while adventuring around with a tween and also wearing and breastfeeding a baby!
Day 1: Fall Paris Travel Outfits
The first day, we traveled from London to Paris so I wanted to be comfortable and cozy, but also comfortable for when we arrived (the high temperature was 85F that day!).
I love this striped midi skirt because it has a super soft elastic waistband and roomy pockets. Always a win, but especially when traveling. It looks great with white sneakers but also dresses up easily if you’re going out somewhere nicer. I wore it with a white tee, which always feels a bit risky, but is so comfy in hot weather. This one is fantastic because it washes really well, breathes easily, and doesn’t wrinkle.
A utility jacket is such a great travel staple – it works in light rain, isn’t too hot, goes with LOTS of outfits, has pockets. I’ve had mine for years and still love it.
- Athleta short-sleeved breathable tee (mostly sold out in white, but Athleta has several other white tees)
- Striped midi skirt with pockets (sold out, but this floral version of my skirt is darling, or here’s a similar striped one, or a VERY cute one that comes in red or black stripe)
- White sneakers
- Best no-show socks
- Belt bag
- Utility jacket (old; similar, similar)
Day 2: Paris Travel Outfits for Fall
The second day was our big exploring (and eating!) day so I wanted to make sure I was comfy again, along with clothing that made it easy to breastfeed without needing to pull shirts and sweaters up and out of pants or the baby carrier. So a button-down top it was!
I love v-neck button downs because they’re functional and interesting but feel less claustrophobic to me than collared ones, especially when its hot. It also feels cooler and more comfortable when wearing a baby!
- V-neck button top (old from Anthropologie; similar chambray, similar)
- Straight jeans
- White sneakers
- Best no-show socks
- Belt bag
- Utility jacket (old; similar, similar)
- Neck scarf/bandana
Day 3: Paris Trip Outfits in the Fall
For our 3rd and final day, I knew we’d be doing. a cheesemaking class, eating a big lunch, and traveling home. My favorite travel pants with a bit of stretch were perfect. I also added this gorgeous but comfy top in a fallish color – perfect for looking a little nicer for lunch in a gorgeous city.
- Yellow lace top
- Olive cropped pants
- White sneakers
- Best no-show socks
- Belt bag
- Utility jacket (old; similar, similar)
The belt bag was also such a winner every day because it held my charger, diapers, wipes, has a fold out changing pad, and still had room for a snack for everyone along with my credit cards and metro passes. Love it.
