We’re on day 3 of school closures and I am FEELING the need to still move our bodies. For as much as we love to travel, I also tend to be a bit of a homebody. So while sheltering in place and practicing lots of social distancing, it’s all too easy to just never leave the house or be physical. That’s not good for anyone. We’re all craving some things to do outside with kids to keep us sane!
While we all want to ensure we’re distancing from others, it’s still really important to get fresh air and movement. Many of these outdoor activities with kids can be done right from your own backyard if you’re lucky enough to have one. For the outdoor activities that require leaving your home, or for those families who don’t have private outdoor space, just make sure to stay far from other people and any sort of crowds when in a public outdoor space. You can’t imagine how happy I was to come across your article because our family lives in a cottage and this summer we were at home. We didn’t have an opportunity to travel because of some significant reasons and we needed to entertain ourselves every day, that was not a simple process. Our children are hyperactive and they always need to play some games. These ideas were like a rescue for me because there are a huge number of them and we had enough of them for almost the whole summer. All the games took our breath away, but our favorite ones were flying a kite and giving the car a good wash. My kids are so creative and it was a pleasure for them to create kites and fly them. Also, with the aid of the second activity we can combine pleasure with business. My children could throw out all their energy and save our money on a car wash. Thank you very much!
