Get ready for the A-Z Global Children’s Book Club! 26 picture books for 26 letters of the alphabet from A-Z, along with global learning the whole family will enjoy!
It’s here! I’m thrilled to announce the 26 diverse picture books that are part of the A-Z Global Children’s Book Club.
What is the A-Z Global Children’s Book Club?
This is the perfect summer program if you love exploring the world because it helps you and your kids do exactly that…right from the comfort of home! It’s a wonderful way to open our minds and hearts to new perspectives and experiences, and to start the journey of becoming more inclusive and antiracist.
The book club highlights 26 different countries, one for each letter of the alphabet. Each country has a picture book read aloud and a number of other activities – crafts, recipes, music and dance, and lots more. It’s perfect as a homeschool social studies curriculum or just to do some really fun supplemental learning. You can find the resources for each country linked below!
Plus, every single one of our families needs diversified education to foster curiosity, compassion, and empathy. I hope this helps you and your families start doing so.
You can learn more about how and why I started the GCBC right here!
How I Chose the Diverse Picture Book Titles
In choosing the diverse picture book titles, I tried my best to include as many own voices authors as I could, based on my searches and availability. When own voices books were not available, I tried to find well-reviewed authors who perform extensive research and who strive to avoid both stereotypes and cultural appropriation.
Where to Follow Along with the Diverse Picture Books and Global Children’s Book Club
In the past, I’ve shared more activities and discussions over on my Instagram as well as here on the blog. You can also follow along with your own printable coloring passport booklet that is completely FREE! Here’s where to get it:

Be sure to sign up for the Global Children’s Book Club email list below to get all the country info directly to your inbox!
Do I have to have all the books to participate?
No! I pinky promise the book club will be fun and enriching even if you don’t have a single physical copy.
That said, I’ve listed several inexpensive and free sources for each book in an effort to make these books accessible to as many families as possible. Of course, always check your library’s physical and e-collection (Libby is my favorite!).
How long will the virtual field trips be available?
The virtual field trips and educational guides to each country of the book club will be available on my blog indefinitely so you can go at your own pace! I’ve linked each of them to each country name below.
And if you’re looking for the monthly 2021 Global Children’s Book Club, you can go right here!
