I love this time of year. Our family celebrates Christmas, and before that Diwali, and I love the festivity and joy that is present during this season.
One of the biggest things I hope to teach my kids is to be respectful of others’ beliefs while still feeling confident in their own. This time of year, with its many traditions, faiths, and holidays, is perfect for discussing that! It’s such a special time of year for so many around the globe.
While we have our own holiday traditions, we also make a point to appreciate the many holidays and traditions that are happening around the world during this season. If you’ve been looking for unique advent calendar ideas for kids that don’t require putting together all the little gifts, I have something for you! This holiday printable is a perfect easy holiday activity for kids.
An Advent to Share Joy and Understanding Across Beliefs
I’ve seen time and again that getting to know someone personally builds empathy, understanding, and love. And that’s true for other traditions and cultures, too!
With that in mind, I wanted to create an advent-style printable to learn about the variety of special holidays during this time of year. It’s the season with the most holidays across faiths and cultures, and is a wonderful opportunity to connect to other peoples and places.
FREE Winter Holidays Printable Advent
So I worked with Paige Osguthorpe to create this gorgeous printable for families. Each day includes a brief prompt to connect with a winter holiday. There are 13 represented from various cultures and faith traditions, and the very short prompts are perfect for families to consider the diversity of celebrations during this time of year.
The best part is that it’s completely FREE – great for printing large and hanging in your home, or sharing with a friend, teacher, or neighbor.
